A room with stories

One of St Ives' oldest family-run restaurants.

The building began life as a sail loft, became Tucker's Pop Factory, then a studio and wine bar. Since 1980, its stone walls have held The Mermaid.

Vintage photographs, old boat lights, fishing nets and local church pews give the dining room a character that cannot be manufactured.

Fresh local fish and shellfish sit alongside locally farmed meat, poultry and thoughtful vegetarian dishes. Summer lobster and daily specials depend on what comes in.
